I always formulate my best blog posts when I cant sleep. Lying in bed I think of stuff to write about, and many times I think to myself, my good that post is going to be good. Then again I am too tired to get up and fetch the computer (guess that is my iPad need), so I always say: tomorrow I am going to write it.

So today, ofcourse, i have no idea what I thought about last night. Just that it was a fantastic idea.

From time to time I don’t listen to my instincts and catch a ride home with colleagues driving. Bad idea as always..

2 subway rides and a local tram ride equals 25-30 minutes

I’ve been stuck in traffik for 20 min now, and we have driven 400m maybe

Looks like I’ll be home later than usual.. next time say nooooo

hoth2
Feels like living on Hoth! In the last weeks we have seen cold weather I have not seen since I moved here, averaging around -8c maybe? And today it is -17, with -21 arriving this weekend. The funny thing though, my apartment has never been warmer =) The cold has really kicked started the heating in my apartment, and having 27degrees in the floor is heaven. The thing that is hard for me, even though I am used to cold and have been out snowboarding in -28, is that the ocean brings allot of moist, so it feels like -40! I think I am getting old, as I find myself googling warmer climates, wanting to go back to Byron Bay and spend winter there. And I am talking about the weather all the time?!? WTF.

Tomorrow is a “day off” in Sweden, but I am working anyway. Got to earn those easy red days when you get double pay.

As we all have heard: Politicians have decided that the earth is warming by 2 degrees every, 4 minutes?, so you can imagine my surprise when it was snowing in Sthlm the other day. And if that was not enough, the temperature has been around -10 for a week, with even more snow arriving. Funny, cause by my calculations (based on the (hope)Copenhagen summit, the temperature should now be aprox 1 billion degrees with a pure CO2 atmosphere.

Anyway back to the mystery: We live up here, just south of the artic circle. We pride ourselves with our winter sports. We brag about our sturdy cars. We are vikings! Anyhow every year it seems the people of Sthlm is just as surprised when SNOW arrives. Traffic stops, public transportation breaks down, and planes are on the ground.

The tvärrbanan is always delayed from Sickla Udde towards Alvik, but not the other way. So when I am standing one stop before the end location (which holds two trains in a mini depot) how the hell can three trains come one way, but none the other way. WHERE ARE THE TRAINS? I cant comprehend it, and I will not try.

Merry Christmas

If I was a super hero, i would probably be a viking, with long hair, and a beard, and a sword! … oh, and I would like a cape… with the nuclear logo! Hell yeah, angel wings! Slow Monday meeting resulted in super hero characters for three colleagues. Super powers are still being discussed!

I am a big fan of the BonAqua products, and the pear is my definite favorite. We have these pops (or sodas if you`d like) at work, and since they removed regular Coke I have been downing these like a thirsty .. uhm.. desert.. man? The problem though is that they REMOVED them now? WTF? yeah that was my reaction as well. I filled my office drawer with the rest that was left, and rely on my usb refrigerator to cool em! But alas, this wont last forever. So.. back to the tip. Mix half and half with regular BonAqua and the citrus flavor. Yummi yum it is almost better that the pear drink. This “ad”, brought to you by: Coca Cola Company?

Its November, and most TV series has been on air for a while now (with the exception of the vinter shows like Lost and 24). So whats new?

- Two and a half men: Continues on the same path as the previous seasons. Probably the funniest show on TV at the moment

- Family Guy, American Dad, South Park: The same as always. Family Guy and American Dad is really good when they make a good one, but seems like McFarlane is running out of ideas. South Park is just as good as always.

- The Cleveland show: First episode had potential, but then again you realized this was just because of the guest appearance of the Family Guy crew. Show sucks.. EOD!

- Heroes: WTF is going on?? Every season they start with a reset.. The show seems like they ran out of stories to tell after season 1. Syler is in Matts brain, Nathan is in Sylers body, Syler is Nathan, Syler takes over Matt, Prison Break guy shows up, again, WTF is going on? The show is heading straight for the recycling bin.

- The Office, Big Bang Theory: Like it allot! Still funny as always! And the Office still brings that awkward laugh out of you, and the occasional Nooo!!

- Flash Forward: One of the new series, and it is promising if they kan keep up the writing with new interesting stuff. The plot with people seeing 6 months into the future was cool, the SFX of the whole planet fainting at the same moment, even cooler!

- V: Another remake , but a good remake. I never did watch the original V series, so this is brand new for me. After the first two episodes, wow! This is going to be the show that replaces Battlestar Galactica. It is not as good, the acting is not as good, the story is cheesier, but hey, its good scifi!

Next up in January is 24, lets see if they can top themselves and produce a good season.

Nope, never, not in a lifetime, maybe, yeah, ofcourse, tomorrow, today! That is what you generally hear when you ask someone if they are getting the SWINEFLU vaccine. Yes, SWINEFLU is written with capital letters, this to make you afraid. The general media seems to want you to think that if you dont take the vaccine, YOU WILL DIE! Me on the other hand, will not take the vaccine. First of all, I already had the SWINEFLU, so I am probably immune. Secondly I will here make some points on why you shouldnt get two to the arm.

- My local pharmacist actually told me (when i had the SWINEFLU) that I shouldnt worry about the SWINEFLU, but worry more about the media coverage and the vaccine (untested as it will be) coming later this fall

- Baxter, Novartis, Glaxo Smith-Kline etc are making billions on this, seems a bit too convenient in this economic climate

- Baxter, Novartis, Glaxo Smith-Kline etc have received FULL immunity of side effects from most countries, should mass side effects occur. This to secure early (untested) vaccines to our protection?

- 10-20 People have died in Sweden of SWINEFLU… Each year over 3000 people die (in sweden alone) of the regular flu

- The vaccine contains trace amounts of Mercury, nuff said.

- Adjuvants… A growing number of adverse side effects has been reported which is possibly linked to adjuvant use in vaccines.

- Guillain–Barré syndrome as a rare side effect.. Google it

- How come they didnt include this vaccine in the regular influenza vaccine? You know there are like 4-5 different influenzas included in this vaccine. Oh i forgot, more money!

To me it seems that the risk of getting complications from SWINEFLU is far less the risk of complications of the vaccine. If you are in a risk group on the other hand, the odds are different, so you probably should get vaccinated. Anyway, seems you are more likely to die in a car accident than of this media hyped SWINEFLU.
