Ok, here is the deal: For one week now the conversation here at the office is about the the (excuse my language) the freakin weather. We live in Stockholm, for google maps people; 59°21′N 18°4′E, It is not the capital of warm weather, nor any tropical destination. Every year we experience a freak phenomenon called Winter, but yet: Everyone seems to be so stoked by the fact that we are soon to receive snow , and that fountains here at Karlaplan froze the other day. I on the other hand, am taking all the excitement with a big C(alm), I am ending the rant here, heeh! =)

So you are 17, all trekkie grown up, watching Star Trek First Contact for the first time, and you go: WOW! that was awesome. They rerouted the dilithium matrix and all that crap, but it was fun, so who cares, it sounds techie! The fun thing is how some actor got his first “mainstream” part or whatever, and you always think of the first time you saw him. Like Neal McDonough, playing lt. Hawk. (or that asian dude in Lost, Daniel Dae Kim, who played in B5, and every other series on the planet). So what happens?

What do you see? Band of Brothers? Or Lt. Hawk?

Desperate lt.Hawk?

Yes you see my point. I sat down with my roomie and watched desperate housewives yesterday, and WHO plays there? Lt.Hawk!!! Naturally I spend this evening watching First Contact again :P

I am reading (read: listening) to the follow up book of “Confessions of an Economic Hitman” by John Perkins, which in itself is an amazing read! Highly recomendable. It is called “The Secret History of the American Empire” and fills in the gaps left by confessions. Perfect for Subway rides to work, workout entertainment, or just relaxing with a good book and a cup of coffee =)

Hectic week.. Saw United go from fantastic victory in the Champions League, to be almost beaten 1-1 at Goodison Park. Wednesday was IBX day, partypary with ibx. Thursday was quiz night. Friday we went out to Debazer. Saturday had dinner at the Lönnroths. And today is relax day. God I need it, I am so tired today I´ll need to crash early. I am updating my CV in english now, and writing a cover letter, as I had help from a friends that works with recruitment. Always good to have an updated CV. You never know what happens. wink wink. Now to finish what I am doing here…

It has been a week since the last time I was at work, and since then:

I have been up in the air twice, enjoying coffee, cinnamon buns, the infamous SAS salad
I have been 6 Days in Norway, totally deleting all the swedish in me, nobody will understand me this week as I start my transition back to swedish.
I dont think I even remember what I do at work, I have been that relaxed.
Have forgotten all urban etiquette, tomorrow I will stand on the left side of the escalator, talk loudly on my cell phone, and not dog up my subway card before I got a line behind me at the entrance.

On the flip side;
I have only 4 days left at work this week
Alex has her birthday meaning we get to go out at least Thursday and Saturday
Man United games Tomorrow and Saturday
Quiz Thursday

I also need a new lens, type telephoto, 50-500?

I have always been very fond of flying! And I have not been afraid of it. But lately, damn it I get more sceptic every flight, haha! Even though I KNOW that it is the safest way to travel. I need to get my head together, its just too silly to develop a fear of flying at the age of 26. Oh well. as long as I fly SAS and new planes I should manage, haha :P

So imagine my JOY of being greeted by the death plane when I flew to Norway last week… There, at Arlanda, a MD-81 stood waiting. You know, the Spanair death plane. I will admit I got a bit nervous at take-off, so I picked a survivor seat and glanced back at the flaps before take-off :)

They were working! The silly thing is that I have flown that kind like 5-6 times this year already, and I like the plane very much. Having the engines back means a silent cabin. And the leg-room is always superb!

Funny thing happened on my way back today (in a 737-800 this time). I glanced out the window in mid flight, some 35000 feet in the air, and another SAS jet passed by like 100 meters on our side. I have never seen a jet so close in cruising altitude, svosh and it was gone again. Almost felt like waving :P

Remember I wrote about stupid urges? Well, I took myself up on one of those and applied for a new job some two weeks ago, just for the fun of it! I applied for the position as a train driver, in the Stockholm Metro. It would have meant a significant cut in pay, more monotone work than you would imagine I guess, 24 hour worksite, meaning you could risk starting at like 5am, BUT (and the but is nice) it looks so damn cool. I guess my urge of driving a train will still have to be in my head since the deadline for hearing back from the company who runs the Metro just passed. Someone driving for the Metro should let me join for a day, so I could get it out of my system without total career collapse (as most people would call it). I really didnt care about that when I applied though, I am only 26, and now is the time to do stupid stuff, just because I can =) Oh well, next chance 14 November. Back to work..
